Eleven boats leave the docks around Key West Bight and the Historic Seaport in the last hour of daylight, and every one of them is advertised as the best evening on the water. Working out which does what, from which dock, at what price, is the whole job here.
Who is behind these pages
There is no byline here, and that is on purpose. Nothing on this site claims a night aboard any particular vessel, so you are not reading a memory dressed up as research. The work is plainer than that: sit down with the live booking page for each of the eleven sunset departures, record what each one actually includes, from the bar to the boarding point, and set the results side by side.
Every number on these pages came off a live listing. The star rating, the review count, the duration, the departure point, the operator's name. Each rating was then checked against a second independent channel before it appeared on a card, and where the two disagreed, the figure was dropped rather than printed. Nothing here is averaged, rounded, or borrowed from whichever source made a boat look stronger.
Facts that belong to nobody's listing come from primary sources instead. Vessel details come from the operators themselves: the 65-foot catamaran run by Fury Water Adventures, the 47-footer behind the adults-only cocktail cruise, the replica of the 1851 schooner America sailed by Classic Harbor Line. Where a from-price appears on this site it is a snapshot taken from the live listing and dated, not a quote, because fares move with season and demand. What stays put is what is printed everywhere: who runs the boat, how long it sails, whether the bar is open, whether you can cancel for free.
What this site is not: an operator, a charter company or a ticket desk. No boat is owned or crewed from here, no reservation is taken, no card is charged. You book on the operator's own listing, which also holds your confirmation, boarding details and cancellation terms. Vessel specs, menus and policies belong to that listing and are credited to it.
How the 11 boats were checked
Every listing was read one at a time, each open in front of the desk, and nothing here was copied from another comparison site or a press release. The cut was strict: only genuine sunset departures sailing out of Key West, no daytime snorkel trips with a golden hour bolted on, no reseller copies of a boat already covered. Each vessel appears once, under its real operator, in one of four categories. That leaves the eleven you see: four catamaran sails, three schooners and tall ships, two dinner cruises, and two tiki charters.

Three rules that do not bend
Where the money comes from
This site operates no boats. It charters nothing, crews nothing, and cannot hold, amend or refund a reservation. Every booking happens on the operator's own listing, which is also where your ticket, confirmation and cancellation window are kept.
The links to those listings are affiliate links, which is how the research gets paid for. Booking through one costs you nothing extra, the price is identical to the price you would see arriving there directly, and no operator has paid to appear on this site or to sit higher on a page. Where a category leads with one boat, it is the most-reviewed one in that category, not the one that earns most.
